# Create an account, sign in and recover access

Use app accounts, verify your email, reset a password and sign out.

## Create an app account or sign in

Use the app's Sign in button. Choose Create account if you are new, or enter the email address and password for an existing Scape Optimizer account.

For a new account, fill in Name, Email address and Password, then choose Create account. Use a password with 12 to 128 characters. This is an app account, separate from your RuneScape login.

After authentication, the app opens the account's saved character workspace. Guest work is not automatically copied into it. If you want to keep a guest comparison, use Export JSON in the app footer before signing in, then import it into the intended signed-in character.

## Verify the email address

A new account requests a verification email. You can use saved work while verification is pending. An unverified account shows Your email address is not verified. and a Resend verification button.

Check the inbox and spam folder for the account's email address. Open the message's link, then explicitly choose Verify email in the app. Opening the link alone does not complete verification. After Email verified appears, choose Continue.

Verification links expire after 24 hours and can be used once. If the link is invalid, expired or already used, return to the signed-in app and choose Resend verification. Read the delivery status if an email cannot be queued.

## Reset a forgotten password

Open Sign in, choose Forgot password?, enter Email address and choose Send reset link. The response is deliberately the same whether or not an account matches that address. Check your inbox and spam folder; Request another link is available if needed.

Open the reset message within 30 minutes. Enter matching values in New password and Confirm new password, using 12 to 128 characters, then choose Update password. A reset link is single use.

When Password updated appears, choose Sign in and use the new password. Completing a reset signs out existing sessions, including other devices. If a link no longer works, request a fresh one.

> The visible account dialog provides password recovery through Forgot password?. There is no separate change-password form in the current workspace.

## Finish saving before signing out

Check for All changes saved and any separate Best-result save status, then choose Sign out in the app header. The app attempts to finish saving before returning to Guest · not saved.

If a notification says recent changes or results could not be saved, those edits may not be available next time. If sign-out could not be confirmed, reconnect and choose Sign out again.

Sign out ends the session used by that browser. Password reset is the recovery action that signs out existing account sessions across devices.
