# Find stronger setups within your budget

Use owned gear, purchase budgets and exclusions to search for a practical upgrade.

## Tell the search what is available

In Boss & raid, choose One monster or Encounter / boss path and review Target settings. Under Combat boosts & context, choose Combat boost or Default combat boost, edit character levels and set On a Slayer task or In the Wilderness as needed. Encounter boosts can override the default.

Budget & owned gear → Budget for new gear limits additional purchases; an empty field means no budget limit. Mark owned equipment and review Unlocks in Saved loadouts → Character. More gear options → Excluded gear → Exclude item removes unwanted items from every recommendation.

1. Choose the target or encounter path and review its phases, levels and boosts.
2. Set Budget for new gear or enable Use only owned / imported items.
3. Review ownership, allowed unlocks and exclusions.
4. Choose Find best setup or Find best encounter gear. Use Stop search if you need to cancel.

> The search chooses gear, combat styles, offensive prayers and compatible damaging spells automatically. It assumes prayer and spell unlocks at the entered levels. It does not preserve a manually selected weapon, spell or fixed equipment slot.

## Search only the gear you own

Enable Use only owned / imported items to make no new purchases. Eligible gear comes from the owned list, bank imports and the active loadout when Count the gear in “<loadout name>” as owned is enabled. The search needs at least one owned item; it does not need market prices in this mode.

Exclusions still apply. Reward gear must also be marked owned, and a blowpipe needs an owned dart type. Switching owned-only mode off restores the purchase budget. With purchases enabled, the automatic blowpipe assumption uses dragon darts.

> Ownership records item types, not a usable ammunition quantity, charge supply or crafting-material stock. Check practical requirements before using a recommendation.

## Check costs and alternatives

Best setups found groups results by DPS rounded to 0.001. Each group shows its cheapest saved evaluated setup first. Expand the result to inspect gear, attack settings, acquisition prices and up to five cost-sorted alternatives with the same displayed DPS.

Use Compare this setup or Compare top to add results to the DPS calculator. Existing cards remain; the action adds only as many as fit within six. Marking an item owned updates visible upgrade costs using the prices saved with the search and can reorder alternatives. Run a new search to find newly affordable gear.

> Full search means every combination in the eligible candidate pool was checked. Limited search reports the best found within its search limits; a stronger setup may exist. Ongoing runes, ammunition, charges and degradation are outside the purchase estimate.

## Review rings and reward access

Budget & owned gear → More gear options → Damage rings lists offensive and special-effect rings with price, ownership, exclusion and budget status. Tradeable damage rings are considered automatically when eligible; you do not need to force them into the search. Recoil and special-attack energy benefits may not appear in DPS, so a utility ring’s value is not fully expressed by that number.

Use Edit character to manage Unlocks and Imported & owned gear. Allowed rewards are access assumptions, not verification of quests or achievements. Some crafted rewards add material costs; an owned item contributes zero additional GP. Missing acquisition prices can exclude unowned gear or make a total unavailable.

## Load or refresh purchase prices

A search that can buy gear needs a shared price snapshot. Market prices shows its date and next upstream refresh time. Use Refresh prices to request an update; when loading fails, Try again retries the request and any last available prices remain identified.

Upstream refresh attempts are limited to once per 24 hours. Reopening the app or pressing refresh does not bypass that limit or make old quotes fresh. Check snapshot age and current in-game prices before purchasing.

## Resume completed searches and refresh changed inputs

Signed-in characters restore their last completed one-monster result and encounter plan, including evaluated setups, target settings and captured prices. Restoring results does not run a new optimization. Guests do not get this account-backed result history.

Changed settings, prices or calculation versions can leave results visible with a refresh warning. Current ownership can update costs without changing saved gear recommendations. Use Find best setup or Find best encounter gear to calculate again. Retry saving results or Retry loading results handles the corresponding account error.

> Check Results saved to your account before relying on cross-device resume. A cancelled or incomplete search does not replace the last completed saved result.
