## Build your gear comparison

A loadout is one set of gear. DPS calculator lets you compare up to six at once. A new workspace starts empty. Choose Add loadout, then Blank loadout or a gear preset to start.

Select a gear slot to change an item. Open Name, style & spell to rename the setup or choose an attack style or spell. A two-handed weapon clears the off-hand slot. Character levels apply to all your loadouts.

1. Open Boss & raid and choose One monster.
2. Open Target settings → Change monster and choose the target version.
3. Use Character levels in Shared combat settings to set your levels.
4. Add and equip your loadouts. Use Duplicate loadout for a small change to an existing setup.
5. Choose Reference loadout to set the gear you want to compare against.

> Remove loadout removes a working card. It does not delete a saved library entry. You can remove every card. Add another when you want to start again.

## Read damage and fight time

Cards show damage per second (DPS), max hit, accuracy and time to kill. Accuracy is your chance to hit. The percent change compares DPS with Reference loadout. Open DPS chart to see the ranking.

Results update as you edit. Read calculation notes if the app reports a limit. Calculation details shows the selected setup’s attack roll, target defence roll and prayer duration at its current bonus. The damage chart shows how often each hit size may occur.

> Fight times are estimates. They leave out movement, boss mechanics, gaps between attacks and gear-switch time. Prayer duration does not plan your supplies.

## Compare gear across several fights

In Boss & raid, choose Encounter / boss path or open Encounter presets. Each manual loadout keeps the same gear through the path. DPS by fight shows each target’s damage and time. Est. total time and Encounter DPS cover the whole path.

Boosts for this fight can replace the shared potions and manual boosts for one fight. Use shared boosts keeps the shared defaults, with any loadout overrides. Phase rules still apply. A setup that cannot damage a required phase can show No damage or Cannot complete.

> Best setups can choose different gear for each phase from one shared inventory. Manual comparison keeps your gear fixed. Phase damage budgets and shared Nylocas timing can change the total time.

## Start from a gear preset

Gear preset replaces a card’s equipment and attack settings. The choices are Max melee, Max ranged, Max mage, Mid-level melee, Mid-level ranged, Mid-level mage and Bowfa + Crystal. Add loadout can create a new card from the same list.

A preset keeps character levels and shared combat settings. It chooses a matching attack style and clears a spell left from the old setup. Magic presets use the staff’s built-in attack. Review prayers, boosts and any Combat overrides after changing combat style.

> Presets are starting points. They do not prove which gear is best for a boss. They do not mark gear as owned or check your unlocks.

## Set shared boosts and single-loadout changes

Shared combat settings sets the defaults for all cards. Choose Melee prayer, Ranged prayer and Magic prayer. Each attack style uses its matching prayer. Potions & boosts offers Standard potions, Salts, Overload (+) and No boosts.

The strongest selected potion boost applies to each skill. Potions do not stack. To enter exact boosts or drains, open Advanced combat settings → Enter boosts manually. Use Clear potions for manual boosts first if needed.

Set On a Slayer task and In the Wilderness to match the fight. Advanced combat settings holds spell and weapon effects, Soulreaper stacks and Chinchompa distance. Use a card’s Combat overrides to change only what differs for that loadout. Reset all overrides returns it to shared values.

Use Name, style & spell for Spell or Blowpipe darts. Special attacks in Boss & raid switches supported manual calculations to special-attack damage.

> The special-attack option does not plan attack rotations or energy use. Best setups searches normal sustained damage with special attacks off.

## Save a setup or export the comparison

Save loadout stores the selected setup in the signed-in character’s Loadout library. It saves that setup, not all six cards as one library entry. In Character, Load & compare adds a saved setup beside your current cards. The six-card limit still applies.

Use Export JSON in the footer to save your current loadouts, target and comparison settings in a file. Import workspace replaces that working comparison and target. Export first if you want to keep them. The file is not a full account backup and does not include the owned list, saved library or full encounter path.
