Keep each character’s work separate. Check saves and open the same work on another device.

## Add, choose and edit a character

Sign in to use the character menu in the app header. It shows the current character name. Each character keeps its gear comparison, levels, owned gear, completed searches and loadout library. A new account starts with Main character. Raid and target settings are shared across your characters.

Open that menu to switch characters. Choose Edit character to change the Character label or optional In-game name. Then choose Save changes. This name field allows up to 12 letters, numbers or spaces.

Open Character in the main menu to edit Levels. These include Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged, Magic, Hitpoints and Prayer. Some game calculations also use Mining and Herblore. Enter your levels or choose Set all to 99. Open Manage owned gear or Unlocks to edit those settings.

Choose Import RuneScape levels or the Tracker tab to read public hiscores for a chosen name. Tracking is optional and needs an app account. It does not require a Jagex login or prove ownership of the game account.

Archive character is in the header character menu. It asks you to confirm, then hides the character. There is no restore button. Export any comparison you want to keep before you archive it. Archiving also stops its background hiscores checks.

1. Open the current character name in the header and choose Add character.
2. Enter a Character label, such as Main, ironman or pure. Add an In-game name if you wish.
3. Choose Add character to open its workspace.
4. Open Character in the main menu to edit Levels, Imported & owned gear and Unlocks.

> Levels apply across this character’s comparison loadouts. Prayers and boosts use Shared combat settings unless you set Combat overrides for a loadout. Character labels do not prove ownership of a RuneScape account.

## Open saved work on another device

Signed-in changes save after a short pause. Sign in on another device to open the last chosen character. Its saved page, gear comparison and character settings return. Raid and target tuning come from settings shared across the account. Look for Saved before you move to another device.

When you return to an open tab, the app checks for newer saved work. It also checks at times while the tab is visible. It protects edits you have not saved yet.

Completed Best searches return without running the search again. You can see the setups, saved prices and target settings used at the time. Changes to your inputs, prices or combat model may mark the result as needing a refresh. The old result stays visible.

> An unfinished or cancelled search does not replace the last saved result. Search results have their own save status and retry control. Check that status as well as the character save status.

## Handle save errors

Unsaved and Saving… mean the save is not done yet. The app retries short connection failures. If Save needs attention appears, read the message. Choose Retry save when it is shown.

“This character changed in another session.” means another app window or device saved changes. Reload saved character opens that saved version. It does not combine the two sets of edits. Export your current comparison first if you need to keep it.

Try to edit a character on one device at a time. Switching characters first tries to save your work. Sign out also tries to save. Read any message about changes or Best results that could not be saved.

Raid and target settings have their own save status in Boss & raid. It says Raid & target settings saved across your characters when saved. If Raid & target settings need attention appears, choose Retry target settings. The character’s Saved status does not replace this separate check.

> A workspace JSON file saves the comparison, shared combat settings and current single target. It does not save every account or character setting, or completed searches. Installing the app does not make an offline copy of account work.
