Plan gear for a raid or boss path

Build raid phases or a custom encounter path, then balance damage, upgrade cost and inventory space.

Choose and review your encounters

Open Encounter presets from DPS calculator or Best setups to choose a boss group or build a CoX, ToA, ToB or TFA layout. For raids, choose encounters, select Review layout, inspect the combat targets and then choose Load layout. Other groups use Load preset.

You can also use Encounter / boss path → Add encounter for a custom group of up to 32 combat targets. Use arrows to reorder fights and the remove control to delete one; at least one must remain. Kill count or Repeat count accepts whole numbers from 1 to 1,000. A raid boss may occupy several phase rows.

Leave room for supplies

In Best setups, Supplies & inventory → Starting encounter chooses the setup worn at the start. Reserve slots under Brews, Restores, Combat potions and Other supplies. Count occupied inventory spaces, not doses; use Other supplies for a rune pouch or extra carried items.

Group Best selects a setup for each fight from one gear pool, charges each distinct item once and checks 28 inventory spaces with up to 11 equipped items at every fight. Review Wear at the start, Carry as switches, Keep equipped across every boss and the peak space requirement in the result.

Tune each target and boost

Select an encounter row, then use Boosts for this fight, Path level where supported or Target settings. The selected row identifies which target is being edited. ToA raid settings → Raid level (invocations) applies to all ToA fights, including Wardens; path levels remain per path boss.

DPS calculator’s inherited boost uses each manual loadout’s own boosts. Best setups inherits Default combat boost. An explicit fight boost replaces inherited potions and manual boosts for that fight. Target settings also provides current HP, editable stats, supported raid scaling and defence reductions.

Choose a Chambers of Xeric layout

Select Normal for a scouted layout. Choose rooms, arrange Your room order with the arrows and keep Great Olm as the fixed final encounter. Olm only removes the other rooms. Challenge Mode loads its fixed route and engine scaling; Party settings sets party size.

Review actual target counts and Olm phases in Review layout. Noncombat rooms can remain in the room list but add no combat target. Puzzle work, resource preparation, healing, adds and downtime outside the included targets are excluded.

Set ToA phases and strategy assumptions

Choose path bosses and Your path order, then select the phase 2 Warden; the phase 3 opponent follows that choice. Raid settings and combat phases sets Raid level (all fights), Default path level and Party size. Selecting fewer than four paths makes an encounter subset, not a complete raid.

Kephri shields, healing and overlords sets two shield recharge percentages, extra shield/body healing, More Overlords invocation and Include overlord adds. The recharge defaults are strategy assumptions. Akkha protection phases divides main-fight HP by the style Akkha protects against; the three shares must total 100%. A zero share omits that protection phase. Shadows and the melee-only final stand are counted separately.

Warden combat phases sets Phase 2 armour cycles, Skip Warden skulls, Include the exposed core and Include phase 3 enrage. Skipping skulls adds their otherwise credited damage back to your attack budget. The core uses a raw-damage budget reflecting its body-damage multiplier; this does not verify that the chosen gear can achieve the selected down count.

Choose Theatre of Blood mode and read Nylocas timing

Theatre of Blood offers Entry mode, Normal mode or Hard mode and Party size from one to five. The fixed order is Maiden, Bloat, Nylocas, Sotetseg, Xarpus and Verzik, with the included Verzik phases shown for review. Normal and Hard use the combat engine’s minimum three-player HP scaling.

Nylocas colour rows share one scaled HP pool. The estimate starts with a six-second melee opener, then uses equal time across the three colour DPS values. A setup may wait through a colour without attacking; the timer continues and it deals no damage in that colour. Boss kills (all colours) changes the repeat count for the shared fight.

Set TFA pools, phase shares and external damage

The Fractured Archive fixes Archive Guardian first and Ocellus last; choose one encounter at each intervening branch. Boss forms and phases selects Guardian forms and Ocellus phases. Open Advanced phase assumptions for each boss’s observed full HP, damage allocations, healing, mechanic damage and add counts.

Full HP fields set pool size; healing adds damage work, and entered damage from mechanics or teammates subtracts work. Bork’s five damage shares, Dagon’hai’s three shared-bar shares and Ocellus’s five body shares must each total 100%. These are strategy allocations, not verified fixed phase durations or HP thresholds.

Review Guardian shield/body assumptions, Bork and Smorks separately, expected healing and add kills, Dagon’hai’s shared bars and survivor cleanup, and Ocellus shield, Blade and final-body work. Blade carryover can credit body damage explicitly. Settings for an unselected branch remain saved but do not add damage to the route.

Read allocated damage separately from current HP

Phase rows show allowed attack styles and Allocated damage. This is the damage assigned to that phase, including any healing or mechanic credits. Current HP in Target settings is a separate snapshot used by HP-dependent combat effects; changing it is not a way to enter expected healing.

Estimated encounter time uses allocated damage divided by engine DPS, except shared timed fights such as Nylocas. Encounter DPS is total allocated damage divided by total estimated time. Open How these plans are calculated for model warnings. No attacks needed can mean mechanics cover the allocated work; it does not mean the whole encounter is skipped.

Revise a saved layout without losing target tuning

Use Edit raid layout to reopen the raid builder. Matching encounters keep their counts, boosts and target edits; explicit raid-setting changes apply across the layout. Enable Reset target tuning to layout defaults when you want to discard those edits.

After loading, Undo preset restores the prior group and layout until the targets change again. If an older saved layout shows Review phase upgrade, review its expanded phase targets before loading. Review the replacement before loading. Undo preset can restore the previous group while available; workspace JSON does not back up an encounter path.
