DATA & PRIVACY

Know what goes where.

A practical guide to the data used by this website and the Scape Optimizer app.

This public website

This site contains product information and Help. It has no account form, analytics integration, or advertising integration. Help search runs in your browser. Your color-theme preference is stored locally on your device. Requests to load the site are processed by the hosting provider.

Accounts and saved work

The app uses email/password accounts and a session cookie to keep you signed in. Signing in lets the app save character workspaces, preferences, loadouts, and completed search results on its servers. Character names are labels; they do not connect to RuneScape accounts.

Bank imports

The raw RuneLite bank export is processed in the browser and is not uploaded. Recognized equipment ownership can become part of your saved character preferences. Guest calculations and imports last for the current session.

Practice and public game data

Trainer preferences can save with a signed-in character. Live arena positions, pending clicks and practice-session history remain in page memory and clear when you leave the trainer page or change character. They are not included in assistant context.

The app reads shared market and Wiki guide snapshots. Those requests can trigger eligible server-side public-data refreshes, but do not send your RuneScape credentials or raw bank export to the game-data providers. Flipping account labels are planning settings, with no RuneScape account connection.

AI text and voice

Using the app’s assistant sends messages, calculator/settings context and relevant structured page details to OpenAI. This can include the selected target and loadouts, visible comparisons and search results, picker selections, ownership preferences, guide context and saved-library references. When you ask it to read a saved loadout, that setup’s gear and settings can also be included. Account credentials and raw bank-export contents are excluded.

Voice begins only after you choose Start voice conversation and allow microphone access. Microphone audio is shared with OpenAI over a live connection; relevant context is updated during the call. Mute pauses microphone input, and End voice stops the call. The app’s text/voice conversation state remains in tab memory and clears on New chat, panel close or account/character change. The app does not save transcripts as account history; this does not describe the provider’s own data-retention practices.

Public game research

Assistant research may send public search terms to search services, OSRS Wiki, RuneLite, or Jagex sources. These services have their own data practices. Source citations and retrieval information accompany research where available.
