Compare gear in the DPS calculator
Build up to six loadouts and compare damage, accuracy and estimated fight time.

Set up the comparison
DPS calculator compares up to six manual loadouts. Each keeps its own gear, attack style, spell, prayers and boosts. Character levels are shared; use Edit character or Saved loadouts → Character to change them.
Select a gear slot to choose equipment. Prayers & boosts opens that loadout’s editor, where you can rename it, change attack style or spell, select Combat prayer and edit Potions & boosts. A two-handed weapon clears the off-hand slot.
- Open Boss & raid, choose One monster, then use Target settings → Change monster.
- Set character levels, equip the first loadout and review its combat settings.
- Use Add loadout to start another preset, or Duplicate loadout to make a controlled comparison.
- Change the gear or settings you want to test, then choose Reference loadout.
Read the comparison
Cards show DPS, max hit, accuracy, time to kill and the DPS difference from Reference loadout. Expand DPS chart to compare the ranking, Skills & boosts to inspect a card’s assumptions, and calculation notes when the engine reports a limitation.
Results update as you edit. Open Calculation details below the loadout editor for the selected setup’s damage distribution, attack roll, target defence roll and prayer duration at its current bonus. Prayer duration is a calculation output, not a simulated supply plan.
Compare an encounter path
In Boss & raid, choose Encounter / boss path or open Encounter presets. Each manual loadout keeps the same equipment through the path. DPS by fight shows each target’s damage and time contribution; Est. total time and Encounter DPS summarize the path.
Use Boosts for this fight to override a loadout’s potions and manual boosts for that fight. The inherited option uses each loadout’s own boosts. Phase restrictions still apply: a setup unable to damage a required phase can show No damage or Cannot complete.
Apply a gear preset
Gear preset replaces the chosen card’s equipment and attack settings. Available templates are Max melee, Max ranged, Max mage, Mid-level melee, Mid-level ranged, Mid-level mage and Bowfa + Crystal. Add loadout starts a new card from the same list.
Applying a preset keeps character levels, prayers and boosts, chooses a compatible attack style and clears a previously selected spell. The magic templates use their powered staff attacks. Review prayer and boost choices after changing combat style.
Choose combat effects and special attacks
In Prayers & boosts, select a supported Spell or Blowpipe darts when needed. Potions & boosts applies the strongest selected boost for each skill; potions do not stack. Clear potions before entering exact boosts or drains under Enter boosts manually.
On a Slayer task, In the Wilderness and Advanced combat settings control relevant task, spell and weapon effects, including Soulreaper stacks and Chinchompa distance. Set them to match the situation you intend to compare.
Keep the setup or comparison you need
Save loadout stores the selected setup in the signed-in character’s Loadout library. It does not create a library entry containing all six comparison cards. Load & compare from that library adds a saved setup to the current comparison, subject to the six-card limit.
Use Export JSON in the workspace footer to download the current comparison loadouts and target. Import workspace replaces those working loadouts and target, so export first if you need to keep them. The file does not back up the saved library, owned list, full encounter layout or search settings; it is separate from a RuneLite bank import.
